Project 'Slomega'

Guess I didn't do too bad of a job spot welding, as there barely any wrappage ... Kelly takes a moment to bang down the inner lip as there's abit of a gap.

We're grinding down the welds as it was getting hard to see where I hadn't put a weld in place. While Kelly is grinding, I'll take a moment to have supper. Supper consists of a COOL REFRESH COCA-COLA and a MARS BAR ... Mars Bar, at work, rest or play. (Haven't decided if this is work or play). Again, both Coca-Cola & Mars are available at your local convience store.

There, now I can see where I need to add a few welds ...

Everything is more or less all welded up, just a matter of grinding down the wells and making things look smooth.
Unfortunealy while we spent so much time grinding down the first set of welds, we neglected to cover the windows of the car from all the sparks from the angle grinder, as well of the welder, and now the window seems to be lightly pitted. NOT GOOD!, I'll know to cover the other side now!

Time to weld the inner wheel well to the outside lip of the quarter. As there was some space between the lips, Brandon takes a moment to investigate and make some cuts to the inner lips so we can fold and bent it down to meet up with the outer lip, and once again, I seem to of removed my gloves, resulting in a small burn in the middle of my left. DAMN!

Caught Shelly by surprise here, as she is cleaning up the welds along the door jam, and Brandon replaces the seized emergency brakes cables that go into the drum.

Shelly & Brandon both did an OUTSTANDING JOB at grinding down the wells alongside the car. I had tried to do this same task eariler in the day and I didn't do so well and ended up having to re-weld along of points. Brandon with GREAT PATIENCES!, grinds the fender to a baby-smooth finish.

The grinding continues for hours ... Again, AMAZING WORK being down here by Shelly & Brandon ... I'm so impressed by their work, I'd even consider doing the quarters on my nova if they gauranteed me, they would do the grinding for me.

Results of their patiences ... Check out how smooth-looking those welds are now ... Amazing, I'm speechless!
So I had nothing better to do then tag the quarter with an 'S' for Slomega and write on the trunk with a marker.
