Project 'Slomega'

The Inner Wheel-Well work continues ...

Kelly & Shelly got to work making up some more patch pieces for the door jam as I finished up the welding to the wheel-well.

Have to thank a moment here to send a BIG BIG HUGE THANK YOU to Kelly & Shelly for all their work, as they seem to be carry this project.

Kelly has a vast amount of knowledge on doing some backyard basics and Shelly has really picked up on this. Both of them have DONE SO MUCH !!!, I'm pretty sure I woulda ended up either parting out this car in frustration, or just throwing it together half-ass and ended up with nothing but a headache.

Kelly, Shelly .... Thank you guys SO MUCH !!!, so all your time, all your efforts to bringing Slomega closer to the road ....

Now, back to work .... the car's not done ....

Wheel well is done ... Welding's not the prettiest, but hey, not bad for Shelly & I who have never welded anything like this before ... Kelly once again, still measuring and cutting, trimming those patch pieces and then started to take out the old metal.

Removal of the old rusty metal and Shelly begins to clean up the area.

As Shelly is grinding and cleaning up the door jam, I primed and welded up a missed spots or holes in the wheel well until I got my finger/knuckle too close to the grinding wheel. OUCH!!, no blood, just a good gash. Kelly then cleans up my weld as I stumble around over to the First Aid kit. (I can still hear Kyle laughing ...)

Some final fittings with the patch pieces for the door jam and Kelly begins making some last-minute alterations for the new half-quarter to fit in.

Kelly makes some alterations to the quarter skin to find properly on the car while Shelly inspects to make sure the body lines will line up.

Sizing up the quarter still, we want to make sure it is lined up properly, lining up body lines etc ... Kelly is marking and making alterations where needed to make sure the front of the quarter lines up with the bodyline, as well as the rocker. As well, we made some more markings at the back where some more cuts are necessary.
