Project 'Slomega'

Well, I moved back over to working on the passenger floor and the little hole we were left with to patch up.

The nice thing about a hole in the floor, is it makes cleaning the inside up much easier. AHH!, I was doing so well, dunno how or where I cut my finger and there's the final layout of my cardboard patch piece.

Got the cardboard piece traced and cut out now on the metal piece. Looks how nicely that fits. Somedays I even impress myself !!

I outline where I can and can't drill holes in the patch for welding it to old metal. Let the welding begin ...

Before I began the welding, I had to clean the underneath of the car and by the firewall, from ALL the oil and crap that had gathered from over time .... scrapped it all down and cleaned it up good. Got the extingisher ready and welded it up!.
Afterwards with the troublelight inside, I check for light underneath the car. ALL LOOKS GREAT !!

After a long 8 hour day, I took a moment to enjoy a cold CocaCola Classic, sit back just listened to the tunes playing (System of a Down) and nodded off for abit. Things are going well for once ...

So I finally decided to deal with the back part of where the fender attachs too. Mount the quarter on to see where the bends are, and hammer away, weld up holes and use the grinder to clean up the mess.

Throw a coat of paint over the primer (which I think I forgot to do on the drivers side). Do the once look over before we attach the quarter for welding. As well, paint up the floor patch.

Get my safety stuff on, and my mighty grinders with the wire wheels. Clean away any paint and crap from the welding surfaces. HEY!!, where'd my mighty wire-wheel go ??
