Project 'Slomega' |
Take a moment to study the trunk floor inner fender lip and see what I can make up to patch it up alittle, as the metal is pretty rusty and brittle here. Welded on the back lip patch piece onto the car ...
Kelly is cleaning up the door jam patch pieces abit, while I tac on the bottom trunk floor inner fender bottom lip patch panel.
HEY, HEY !!, a picture of me working, welding on the patch piece and then Kelly grinding & cleaning up the welds.
A couple more weld for the door jam piece, Kelly primes the bare metal areas, and takes a moment to mock me ...
We drill some holes along the edge of the new quarter to make it easier to weld on, and make another patch piece to cover up the nova maker light location.
Clean up the area on the car where the quarter will be welded too, the marker light patch is almost done ... hell, I think we've almost ready to hang the quarter !!
Starting to wonder if I'm taking too many pictures of this project ... I mean 120 pictures so far, and we've only down the one side .... AIE! |
Using a wire wheel, I'm cleaning the surface of the quarter removing paint to expose some metal. We also use a few sheet-metal screws to hold the quarter in place.
Let the fun begin! We begin to spot weld the quarter on, a SLOW process .... If you can see a spot on the other side, then it was a good weld. :)
