Take a moment to clean up, and paint the valve covers, bolts, brackets, pulleys and other miscellaneous stuff.

Heads have been reworked and freshen'd up by Dan. The Vortec heads needed to be worked, because of the higher lift cam installed. Dan also installed pushrod guides and screw-in studs.

Pushrods and Roller Rockers installed. Intake, torque and valve covers are installed and there it is.

The 355 is done and is ready to be installed back into the Omega. Dad wastes no time getting the engine hooked up to the engine jack.

Transmission is bolted to the block, and time to load this bad-boy in the car!

As I didn't extend the legs out on the engine jack, the jack started to tip. Quick phone call to my mom to come over, because Dad & I needed her help. Here Mom, stand on the jack for us. Having some issues lining things up, my friend Glenn A. just happened to stop by and was right away put to work.

Thanks to Glenn A's help, we get the motor and transmission back into the car and everything is lined up.

Time to start reconnecting everything. I run the wiring thru-out the engine bay and back to where things need to be plugged in. After the wiring is laid out, I tend install the passenger side header, as well as gaskets for the drivers side header, which was bolted to the block when the block was lowered.

Had some issues with the passenger side header. Using the bench grinder to grind down some washer to get them to fit on the header.

Change out one of the header studs for another stud for the powersteering pump. Next, the fuel pump is installed.

Purchased a Edelbrock High Flow Aluminum Water Pump to replace the old standard Waterpump. Powersteering pump is then bolted back up to the block.

Using NGK TR55 plugs, gapping them at 45 and installing them into the heads.

Dip stick tube is installed, transmission coolant lines are connected to the external cooler and the alternator half-ass installed.
