Arrive at Gimli, found a nice spot to pit. Time to clean out the car and get the Drag Radials on and wait for 'Tech'.

Met up with some friends, John brought his 76 Nova out and Mike brought out his Race-F150

In the staging area, Mom snapping some pictures ... unfortunately she was taking pics of the wrong car (see Photo #1). hahahaha, No ... Mom!, over here!!

Stage, Ready, Set .... GO!

Another pass ... and there's my Dad at the railing, getting ready to watch out the car launches ...

Back in the Staging area, waiting for my turn. I'm next, except there's been an accident on the track. A car started cart-wheeling and flew over the railing at the finish line. Well, might as well go see how my friends are doing. Dad & Uncle Bob remain with the car and chat.

The car that flew over the railing was the 'Untouchable' car. Unfortunately there was another car coming back along the returning lane when 'Untouchable' rolled OVER the front clip of a Mustang. Thankfully NEITHER driver were hurt, but 'Untouchable' was destoryed. The Mustang has a cage inside it, saving it from being worse off.

Another near disaster, featuring a 73 Nova from Winkler ... blows a tires and heads for the guardrail, saves the car but now it's fishtailing sideways over into the other lane. Some smart driving and quick thinking by the kid in the Mercury to avoid t-boning the nova, quickly stops his car. Spoke with the kid driving the Mercury later on in the day, and he told me that was his first ever pass on the track .... and it kinda scared him. Well, he handled the situation like a Pro!

Dad takes a moment to look under the hood, check things out ... My friend Glenn is landing a Water Bomber at the Airport next door to the track, and everyone is patiently awaiting the reopening of the track.

Another pass ...

It's time for the old man to show me how to drive a car ... Dads turn behind the wheel! Happy with his pass, Dad quickly gets back in lane in the Staging Area.

While in line, I take a moment to look over things, Makes sure nothing leaking. Owww, Small problem ... the belt has rolled again. Well, quickly push the car outta the Staging lane and off to the side for a quick fix.

While track personal take a later lunch, I drove the Omega over to a nearby field to snap up some pics. A few weeks ago, I took the Nova out to Gimli to race, and ended up taking some lovely scenery pictures of the car. Mom & I start snapping away, at the Omega.

Afer making some 12 passes on the car, I decided I have enough. Returned to our pit area and call it a day. It was a good day!
